Universal pipette tips are designed to fit most pipettes from popular brands. They are usually manufactured in aseptic conditions, but several levels of sterility are available. Universal tips come in a variety of formats including racked, racked sterile, bulk packs and refills. They provide excellent performance in most applications and are the perfect fit if you do not have pipette specific needs or other special requirements.
If you want to minimise the risk of cross-contamination, filter tips are what you are looking for. They include a small filter that will block aerosols from contaminating your pipette, the ideal choice when performing sensitive assays such as PCR or when handling microbiological samples.
Similar to filter tips, extended length tips reduce the risk of contaminating pipettes. The extra length allows you to reach the bottom of any liquid vessel while keeping your pipette clean.
An extra-hydrophobic construction material makes low retention tips the best tips for avoiding sample loss. Liquids will not attach to the tip and you will save precious samples and reagents.
