Zeolite Y is used as a cracking catalyst in petroleum refinery catalytic cracking units to convert high-boiling fractions of petroleum crude to more valuable gasoline, diesel and other productsZeolite Y is used as a cracking catalyst. In the petrochemical industry, it is used in acidic form in order to increase the yield of gasoline and diesel fuel from crude oil feedstock by cracking heavy paraffins into gasoline grade naphthas. Further, it is employed in the hydrocracking units as a platinum/palladium support to increase the aromatic content of reformulated refinery products.
