Description
- Recognizes human IFN-gamma
- IFNG is a soluble cytokine that is the only member of type II class of interferons
- Associated with antiviral, immunoregulatory and anti-tumor properties
- Potent activator of macrophages
Process:
- Antibody specific for IFN-gamma pre-coated onto microwells
- IFN-gamma protein in samples captured by the coated antibody after incubation
- After extensive washing, another antibody specific for IFN-gamma is added to detect captured IFN-gamma protein
- For signal development, horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated is added, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent
- Solution containing sulfuric acid used to stop color development and color intensity
- Proportional to quantity of bound protein, measurable at 450 nm with correct wavelength set at 630 nm
